In 2023 BSEN seriously revised the entry level for the BSEN standard 15713 for the secure destruction of confidential material. This involved raising the bar on all requirements necessary to be able to qualify to display this prestigious badge. Amongst others this included some of the following key items
- Vehicle security : Ensuring all vehicles were fitted with trackers, alarms and hands free communication systems
- Shredding facility : More cameras required, maintenance records,
- Staff : Must carry ID badges, be in uniform and have DBS checks
- Contracts : Every shredding customer must be issued with a contract
- Certificates of destruction : Amended to reflect the grade of shredding and type of shredding service provided
- Access to site : For clients wanting to witness their confidential papers being destroyed new procedures are needed to record their visit, including issuing visitor passes and ensuring the shredding area only has their documentation within it.
To be able to display the badge and promote it a member of Simply Shredding must take this on themselves to ensure that there own vehicles, operations and staff tick all the right boxes. Last week, after 6 months work Simply Shredding Hull, Simply Shredding Beverley, Simply Shredding Scarborough and Simply Shredding Scunthorpe all managed to retain BSEN 15713 for the secure destruction of confidential material.
As they are one of the only local document destruction companies to hold BSEN15713 this makes it even more special to those who have worked hard to achieve this quality standard
